Hello! My name is Yumi!
A neurodivergent artist with unlimited ambition and the memory of a gold fish.
Growing up watching anime, cartoons and playing video games, I found myself in love with creating fun and cute characters, products and other creations. Here is my story:
After drawing just for fun growing up, I started drawing digitally in 2015 and found myself wanting to take my art seriously after assuming I’d be a video game designer as a kid.
I decided to pursue my art career by going to an art specific college. I attended Minneapolis College of Art and Design. A privilege I never thought I’d be able to have, but thanks to a lot of scholarships and support, I graduated with a Bachelors in Fine Arts majoring in 2D Animation.
I moved along to my first corporate designer job, not working in animation as I had hoped at first, but working in product design. Making fun apparel, headwear, accessories and stationary.
After many struggles that I learned later to be due to undiagnosed ADHD, I found that the corporate world was not meant for me. So I took the leap in pursuing a career as a self employed artist!
